Former U.S. Ambassador John Bolton on President Trump’s Chief of Staff latest comments and U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley:

August 10, 2017

“With respect to General Kelly I would not have put it that way, I think he’s trying to rally the White House staff, and trying to bring some unity.”

“The way I would have put it to the White House staff is to say look, it is an honor for you to serve your country here in the White House and you have a duty of loyalty the President, he listens to your advice, he makes the decisions, your job is to carry out what those decisions are.”

“Since 2006 when the first sanctions resolutions against North Korea were put in place and there have been 7 or 8 depending on your count all of them were 15-0 so its not any different than the sanctions resolutions in the past and I can tell you from my own experience these votes are not obtained solely by the genius of the U.N. Ambassador.”

Ambassador John Bolton, a diplomat and a lawyer, has spent many years in public service. He served as the U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations in 2005-2006. He was Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security from 2001 to 2005. In the Reagan Administration, he was an Assistant Attorney General.
