Iran nuclear deal draws concerns as North Korea threatens US

John Bolton, former U.S. ambassador to the U.N. weighs in on the growing fears about Iran as North Korea threatens the U.S.:

“This has been a threat for nearly 20 years, North Korea sold Iran its first Scud missiles.”

“I think the regime is rational in its terms but thats not a rationality that we recognize and its not just Kim Jong-Un who is the problem here, its the whole regime.”

“I think the lesson ahead is they would use these nuclear weapons as blackmail.”


Ambassador John Bolton, a diplomat and a lawyer, has spent many years in public service. He served as the U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations in 2005-2006. He was Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security from 2001 to 2005. In the Reagan Administration, he was an Assistant Attorney General.
